Review of The Fountain (2006) by Ryan H — 30 Jun 2014
Darren Aronofsky's staggeringly beautiful poem of a film is a meditation on the fragility of life and the nature of death. The finale may baffle some viewers, but the discerning film-lover will enjoy deciphering it's beauty.
Combined with the cinematography of Matthew Libatique and the score composed by Clint Mansell (performed by The Kronos Quartet and Mogwai), you have an inescapably haunting and bewitching film. Firmly in my top 5 films.
