Review of The Flowers of War (2011) by Jim B — 14 Feb 2013
Before watching this film the only thing I knew about the director that in his previous movies he created scenes in one color pallette. I could never expect to love it to the extent I do now.
I never imagined the colors in a film can be so beautiful and harmonical. I've never known the Chinese beauty can be so gentle and subtle. I have never guessed I'll be so drowned in the story of the Chinese and Japanese. I haven't sobbed for long while watching films till this one.
This is what I call beautifully and finely made movie.
