Intense and Action-Packed!

On Feb. 18, 1952, a massive storm splits the SS Pendleton in two, trapping more than 30 sailors inside the tanker's sinking stern. Engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) bravely takes charge to organize a strategy for his fellow survivors. As word of the disaster reaches the Coast Guard in Chatham, Mass., Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Cluff (Eric Bana) orders a daring rescue mission. Despite the ferocious weather, coxswain Bernie Webber (Chris Pine) takes three men on a lifeboat to try and save the crew against seemingly impossible odds.
I actually enjoyed the big screen depiction of this true rescue story that is still one of the greatest in Coast Guard history. Pine and Affleck in particular shine as the historical figures they are intended to represent. The special effects are top notch and the feel good vibes the ending produces are incredible. Five stars.
