Review of The Fifth Estate (2013) by Patrick K — 20 Oct 2013
I think the beauty of this film is it leaves the viewer to decide how they feel about the events it depicts. The filmmakers seem very aware that Assange had a massive impact on journalism and modern policy-making- but they aren't sure exactly how history will interpret him.
They leave it to time- and the viewer. There is a grand, sweeping purpose implied in the movie, with breathtaking moves from country to county, but it seems like there are times when the plot gets weighed down by all the details.
