Review of The Fast and the Furious (2001) by Lyndon A — 13 Mar 2013
The original of an ongoing series, it may have its faults but they are minimal. The movie has Vin Diesel and Paul Walker giving solid performances as Dominic Toretto, a street racer with leading a criminal double life, and Brian O'Connor, an undercover LAPD agent with aspirations to be an FBI agent, respectively.
Unfortunately for the both of them, their inevitable paths crossing has made irreversible changes to their lives as Dom was a hunted man by the LAPD in connection with high octane heists and car chases, and Brian was the cop assigned to the case.
Dom, being a usually private and careful man quickly accepts the friendship offered by Brian, while Brian has his objectives hindered by a respect of Dom and a love for his sister Mia, played by Jordana Brewster.
While there may be the occasional speed bump of flat moments throughout their adventures, a colorful character development and plot ensues, at a fast paced offering worthy of the title "The Fast and the Furious.
