I love learning about big movies that never came together. I've seen a picture or two of Nic Cage as Superman over the years but had no idea it was so close to being made. This documentary has a lot of cool art and camera tests.
Unfortunately it also has a director with zero personality who feels the need to be constantly on camera. I'm not convinced that Superman Lives wouldn't have been a train wreck, but I'd have rather seen that than Superman Returns.
