Maori Martial Arts and Warfare are only something that is discussed now days and we are only able to imagine how it all was back then. But this movie gives those viewers great satisfaction and closure as to how intense and strategically war capable Maori were back then.
The movie also incorporates Maori spirituality, & Maoritanga. I would rather be depicted as a Maori from this movie, than one from 'Once were Warriors'. The Dead lands is by far the best Maori Movie I have seen.
