Review of The Dead Hate the Living! (2000) by Jonathan M — 11 May 2006
I like how the only review they could find for this was "Unique!" It reminded me of what an elementary teacher would say to the slow kid about an art project they've just done. Now, on to the movie.
It's very a typical zombie movie. And I can't really say bad things about it because it's directed and staring a lot of people who loved the same movies that I did. However, when you spend half of your audio commentary trying to defend everything you did, you shouldn't be making the movie.
The make up was great, except for the main guy who turned into a zombie. The deaths weren't really well done but the end was interesting. However, no matter how much we want to, we can't take away from the fact that not everyone knows who Lucio Fuluci and Dario Argento are, and these jokes and references are wasted on extreme horror buffs.
I realize that it was a homage, but it's not a homage if no one watches it. E for Effort.
