A kinder, gentler Jodorowsky than the dark, intense psychedelic surrealism of his early films, and sometimes hampered by a limited budget and dodgy digital fx -- but this dreamlike ode to the director's long lost childhood is full of wildly imaginative metaphors and overbrims with a sense of strange wonder and bizarre joy that makes it an unforgettable experience.
