Review of The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) by Johnny N — 05 Oct 2012

I did not watch any of the prequels to Chronicles of Riddick, but after I saw it, I was persuaded to buy the trilogy, including the animated movie.

I am a big fan of sci-fi/action movies, and this definitely fit the bill. The storyline was decent, costumes and special effects great, and acting good. For a lower budget movie, this definitely was a great watch. Vin Diesel plays the typical raspy bad ass anti hero, but it definitely works here. Thandi Newton is hot and plays well as the antagonist--but there is no true good/evil scheme here. The portrayal of characters and acting is good enough that you can understand their conflicted emotions.
