1969 absurd/surrealist film based on the one-act play "The Bed Sitting Room" also written by director Richard Lester ("A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, HELP!, SUPERMAN II and III) and one Spike Milligan.

The cast is - a who's who of 60's BBC TV comedy including Spike Milligan of course, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Arthur Lowe, Marty Feldman, Harry Secombe. The plot is about completely bonkers characters loosely interacting with each other in a desolate post-nuclear-holocaust wasteland (though don't mention the bomb).

Arthur Lowe with his remarkable inside leg measurement dreams of being the next Prime Minister. Rita Tushingham falls pregnant on the Circle Line. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore pop up in incongruous places to tell people to move on, no loitering, and there is always the threat of morphing into a parrot, a piece of furniture or indeed of course, a bed-sitting room.
