Review of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016) by Joe S — 02 Oct 2016
Behind the pop melodies, pretty boy persona, and hordes of screaming girls, The Beatles were so punk rock...they basically pioneered super-stardom, and handled it with brains, honesty and tons of brash humor.
Ron Howard beautifully captures such a long and dense period of time concisely yet comprehensively. Using tons of great old footage, rarely-seen photos, propulsive performances, and incisive & hilarious soundbites, here's hoping Howard will make a "The Recording Years" doc next.
