Review of The Abduction Club (2002) by Missie B — 25 Aug 2008
I'm usually up for a good period drama romp, but this was very disappointing indeed. Not sure whether to take itself seriously, or light-heartedly, it flitted around, with a vaguely passable script, some borderline acting (despite a good cast) and some lamentable wigs! A fun story, some beautiful scenery, but just not cutting the mustard I'm afraid.
Good sideburn rating: 2/10 All dodgy wigs, and only the merest whiff of a sideburn. Presence of sartorially elegant men: 8/10 The age of the highwayman, so breeches, big boots, billowing shirts and cravats - miaow! However marks deducted for those dodgy wigs!
