Review of Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom (1973) by Willi W — 31 Aug 2007
This disturbing sexploitation film evokes equal feelings of disgust and respect. This is my first exposure to this particular brand of "pinku" Japanese film making, and while I pride myself on not dragging politics into art, I can't help but be put off by the way this film sadistically connects sex and violence.
On the other hand, I think the storytelling is stylish and effective, and a few moments near the end of the film are surprisingly powerful. Lynch Law Classroom is a hard film to appreciate and it's not fun to watch, but if you can look past its ugly demeanor you'll find an exceptionally solid film here.
