Review of Telstar: The Joe Meek Story (2008) by Harold M — 21 Jun 2009
Joe Meek was a record-producer in the 60s & had MASSIVE hits with the tracks 'Telstar' & 'Johnny Remember Me' to name but a few.
Meek is often known as 'the founder of British pop music' and this film is basically about his rise & fall and what an eccentric man he was.
It's directed by Nick Moran of 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' fame & has some great cameos from rock stars as other rock stars, most noteably Carl Barat from The Libertines as Gene Vincent & Justin Hawkins (Ex-Darkness) as Screaming Lord Sutch.
