Review of Tall in the Saddle (1944) by Jonathan F — 14 Mar 2008
John Wayne in a western. That's unusual. Wayne play Rockland, an overall good but also quite tough free agent who arrives to town to work on a family's ranch. things go astray when rivalries and murde come into play.
The plot is far too convoluted for the viewer to understand it with only one viewing and not all of the performances get the pasing grade, but the film does manage to have fun with most of its charcters.
And John Wayne...well, he behaves like John Wayne, and that,s good enough for this viewer.
