Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Menno J — 30 Nov 2008
Uncompromisingly dark and bleak with a slow but perfect pace this film make for compelling viewing. A very different film from Oldboy. The violence is sporadic which actually makes it more brutal. Sparse dialogue and the subtle use of sound all contribute to a gut-wrenching film which oozes human drama and tragedy.
