Review of Support the Girls (2018) by Aseenah R — 02 Sep 2018
Regina Hall is poignant and powerful. The way her character Lisa glides from one disaster to the next with so much grace, it should be an Olympic sport. Handling, would be robbers, over zealous customers and young women not quite sure about their roles in life.
Wanting more for those around her at the expense of her well being (That includes her husband) Personally, there is a sadness there, an inner struggle to keep up the good fight. The "Support" girls are fun and have a sincere love and respect for their colleagues (No hair pulling, hating, stereotypical reality show BS) Love their manager, even if they don't necessarily "love" the job.
I, of course don't want to leave out Lea Delaria as BoBo, she always delivers a solid performance. I can't gush enough about this movie!! So relatable and touching...I just wanted to shave off 20 years and about 100 pounds and join this powerful "Sisterhood".
