Not your father's Frankenstein. This is a very different take on the idea of reanimation, which focuses more on the emotional and moral questions of what is life and what makes it meaningful. It makes the most of its obviously small budget by presenting a tiny cast (most of the time, just two men) in a limited setting with only the simplest of special effects.

The storytelling is excellent and the cast does a very fine job. In its quiet way this may just be a contemporary classic.
