Review of Stories We Tell (2012) by Irvin C — 11 Jan 2014
This is the very best movie of the year, in my opinion. Meaningful, sorrowful, funny, and unforgettable... this 'documentary' defies classification, and upends its own genre in brilliantly inventive ways.
The central... 'spoiler...' isn't the point. The power of stories, and the way we use them to bring meaning to our lives... IS. Funny that 'Saving Mister Banks,' my second-favorite 2013 movie, covers the same territory.
The two would make a helluva double-feature... if you wanna use every shred of Klenex in your house.
