Review of Stonewall (2015) by Armando P — 24 Sep 2015
After hearing all the criticism of what was basically a trailer, I was surprised to see the touching story of a young man rejected by his family forced to find his way through the streets of NY.
Don't expect some documentary where you will learn all the detailed historical facts about what happened during that time in the gay liberation movement. However, you will be delighted by a lovely gay coming of age story set against that backdrop. How many Hollywood movies are made about this? It was definitively a story I could relate to. The rejection from family, meeting people you never thought you would, ending up in places that you never thought you would end up in.
And just being honest here, not super emotional here. Don't really get inspired by movies much (Probably because very few have stories I can relate to as a gay man). But this movie really touched me somehow.
