Review of Steptoe & Son Ride Again (1973) by Wez C — 09 Jun 2009
One of my favourites ever. I love the series so there's now reason why I'm not going to like the two movies.
The script is bulging with hilarious lines, quips and throw-back lines for both Harold and Albert from start to finish. And every single scene is genuinely filled with hilarity.
This film suits the original series perfectly involving the Steptoes having to sell everything in their home to pay off a gangster, buying a blind-as-a-bat greyhound to earn them some money and showing us what they get up to at home like making Harold's sandwiches with fag ash! stealing the neighbour's pigeons for tea, and Harold looting the toilet bowl for money!
A terrific film from start to finish. One of the few films I can watch over again and still continue to find it funny.
