Review of Stephanie Daley (2007) by Sunshine S — 29 Jun 2007
16-year-old Stephanie Daley (Tamblyn) is accused of murdering her baby that she delivers secretly in a public washroom. Tilda Swinton plays the very pregnant psychologist who is investigating Daley.
Very Movie-of-the-week territory here. However, the solid acting, and avoidance of melodrama/expositional storytelling elevate this film far beyond anything a TV movie could give us. Tamblyn and Swinton turn in top-notch performances that make this one of the better movies I've seen this year. Not light and cheerful far, but definitely worth a watch.
