Review of Starting Out in the Evening (2007) by John T — 07 May 2008
A novelist in his twilight, teetering on the brink of obscurity, is nudged into confronting his own legacy by a charming and self involved graduate student. Smart script and brilliant performance by Frank Langella.
The characters are nicely realized (their flaws do not immediately vilify them, a testament to the acting) and their relationships to each other are well delineated.
