The music is, without saying, phenomenal, as are the people who played it. The movie itself is lovingly crafted, and it offers lots of neat little anecdotes, but as far as movies go, it's lacking in a lot of respects, with no plot to follow except vague updates on what happened to the band.
Still, it's worth watching, if only because the Funk Brothers never really got the credit they deserve.
