Review of Stand by Me Doraemon (2014) by Adrian S — 30 Jun 2015
Doraemon has been in my life ever since I was a kid. Re-reading the Chinese translated comics over and over and over again is the only reason why I can still read Chinese today. So this rehash retelling of Doraemon and Nobita's story, along with a few other plotline conjoined, felt like a stroll down memory lane.
I remember each plot line (and some scenes replicated right out of the manga) perfectly. I'm not so fond of the computer rendering, I prefer my Doraemon world nostalgically flat, in 2D. But it's still a trip to see these storylines re-enacted, just as I remember them all my life.
It's like a hug from a lifelong old friend :).
