Review of Sputnik Mania (2007) by Vicky B — 06 Apr 2008
Fascinating. I had _no_ idea. Loved this movie, and loved the style of it too. The whole thing about the Russian test astronaut dog was sad . . . but in this and other aspects, the oscillation between camaraderie and competition between Russians and U.
S. was really intriguing. The story culminates around this, and gives me new respect for both Eisenhower and Khrushchev. The Media nicknames for the Russian dog-onaut are worth the price of admission (e.
G., "Muttnick" for one).
