Review of Spring Breakers (2013) by Samuel R — 24 Mar 2015
Simply an amazing movie. For most of the movie I was sometimes bored, wondering where the story was going and what the point of it was. The endless partying seemed excessive, and that's exactly, I figure, a point that the movie was trying to make. It is only with a second viewing that I more fully understood the more deep themes of this movie.
Ultimately, the finale of the movie is not disappointing at all. It is a very thought-provoking movie, and it's also a lot of fun. It makes one wonder about the nature of violence and its causes, but also makes one reflect about what behavior should be considered normal or not. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who does not mind seeing an artsy movie that doesn't always have a clear plot, but leaves the viewer curious, assuming one is interested by partying, bikinis and violence anyway.
