Review of Spider Baby (1967) by Alli A — 06 Sep 2012
As soon as I saw Spider Baby I knew I would love it. I have now seen it over six times in the past few years. It's one of those films that fit into every criteria, genuinely its a cult classic masterpiece.
The acting is great, with Sid Haig, Jill Banner and of course Lon Chaney Jr putting on unforgettable roles. Unforgettable moments include Virginia catching a postman in her 'web' before stabbing him to death, a serving of a meal to the guests of mushrooms, bugs and a rabbit caught by Ralph and Bruno's decent to the basement to feed, at the time, unknown beings only to hear their screeches.
All good fun, hilarious and crazy, it rightfully owns its aka name of The Maddest Story ever told.
