Review of Spectral (2016) by Bryan F — 06 Feb 2017
Just watched this movie. It's a hybrid science fiction action movie. It's more action movie than anything else though. Great cast. Truly. Interesting story. I thought it was much better than most of the action movies out there. If it had one flaw is that the male lead James Dale was overshadowed pretty strongly by Emily Mortimer. Honestly, I think the movie would have been a 5 star one if Emily Mortimer had been the lead character of the scientist and James Dale had been her character instead.
Definitely worth watching if you are in the mood for an action movie. Is it ground breaking? No. But it is memorable and the special effects are good, plus the depiction of the military forces is much more accurate than many movies. Lots of strengths overall to balance the "booms".
