Review of Son of a Gun (2014) by Luke J — 21 Oct 2014
Saw this at London Film Festival and it was hands down my favourite film of the festival. It wasn't a new take on the heist film but the settings, cast and direction felt fresh and unseen before. I went on a trip to Australia many years ago and it was so incredible seeing the vast desert landscapes and the booming gold mines, this film feels like a huge production but the Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening revealed it was a relatively small budget film.
The action in it was particularly top class and I felt on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think this will be a real winner one it is released here in the UK.
