Review of Somers Town (2008) by Katie T — 03 Jul 2008
An absolute corker of a film.
Beautifully shot, predominantly in B&W, as Shane wanted to ensure what the audience focussed on was the story-line, not the visually chaotic part of London he was shooting in. Beautifully crafted story, convincing characters and storyline with a great soundtrack that gives this a distinctly continental feel, all in the right direction.
If you don't like it, you've probably no soul.
My film of the year.
B.
