Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Gerald H — 29 Oct 2018
FINALLY, a good Star Wars movie in the last 20 years.
Fun, entertaining, and not fluffy with emotions and morals. The characters are as real as they can be for a Star Wars franchise, and Solo definitely delivers.
Somehow I felt that Lando was a bit overplayed and cocky, considering these guys are fairly young, but it's a direct, unadultered nod to the original characters of the original trilogy.
The feminist? strangely romantic robot was a bit strange... almost like Jar Jar, but I suppose these movies need cheap elements of humor in them.
Nevertheless, I REALLY enjoyed this movie, and how well it carried the Star Wars universe, even for adults, and the story wasn't an empty bevy of pointless characters (like the last several Star Wars flicks).
Really hope there is a sequel to this in the works. A+.
