Even if the (rushed) ending was somewhat satisfying, the first half of the film is devoid of anything that will hook you to the characters. Kengo Kora's character doesn't seem to possess any on-screen charisma opposite Aoi Miyazaki's who's trying so hard to get him to stick around... and we don't get why. When "it" finally happens, we're already passed half the film.
Secondary characters needed more interaction and more developing. Ayumi Ito is really underused.
