Review of Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) by Scott C — 29 Mar 2015
The well known story of Snow White is removed from it's mawkish pantomine sentimentality and placed firmly in the gritty medieval superstitous story it was meant to be. Charlize Theron and Claflin bring out a superb, calculating evil, measured to measured restraint where necessary.
Stewart is fine as Snow White. As is Hemsworth as the reluctant anti-hero, The Huntsman. A superb support cast ensures a marvellous movie. Major plus on the scenes involving the appearance of the White Hart, and probably the best portrayal of a siege and assault on a castle I have ever seen in a movie.
