Smashed is a very very good movie. In the hour and 20 minutes that it owns up, it owns it up very good.
This is a very raw and real drama about a dysfunctional marriage between a girl, her husband, and their alcoholic binges. It is, for the most part, owned by a very strong and stripped down performance of Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whose roles are usually limited to scream queen-fodder and action thrillers.
This is a must-watch.
