Review of Sleepless (2001) by Robert C — 10 Apr 2009
One of Argento's dullest and most lifeless films. It's a good thing Max Von Sydow was cast because he is almost literally the movie's only saving grace. He takes bad material and somehow finds solid character drive, creating the film's one and only likable character.
Chalk the rest of this film up to poorly written dialogue for poorly drawn characters and ugly, illogical murder sequences which share none of the excitement or style with Argento's more creative giallos.
Slow and borish, and best to avoid.
