Review of Sleeping Giant (2015) by Zoltan T — 06 Jan 2018
We walked out of the theatre twice during this film, having been lured in by the critics' laudatory reviews. Could it be this bad? We went back inside to find out about 3/4 of the way through, Yes, it is, and walked out a second time.
Three immature adolescent boys behave as you'd expect on summer vacation. The whole affair is irritating. The dialogue is thin, the acting is one - dimensional, and the plot is predictable. A pretty girl shows up.
Will they all fall for her simultaneously? You guessed right. Does it all end in tragedy? Probably, but you're a better person than I am for sticking it through to the end to find out. The film's only redeeming quality is the natural beauty of northern Ontario on full display.
