Review of Sixty Six (2006) by Marc B — 12 Nov 2006
Enjoyable, if fimiliar, coming of age story heightened by some great performances and a genuine warmth and affection. It goes to show, very ordinary stories can leap off the screen with great acting and a little bit of creative direction and it's here 'Sixty Six' scores high.
With many laugh out loud moments as well as touching ones, this is little gem indeed. Most of all it's comment on the Jewish culture is nowhere near as irratating or overdone as previous attempts.
It's a warm and funny film and those that like their comedy on the sweet side will embrace it.
