Review of Sing Street (2016) by Noah D — 18 May 2016
Sing Street is without a doubt the best film of 2016 so far for me! Charming as all hell and irresistibly feel-good, Sing Street not only features great performances from a mostly unknown cast and fantastic writing, but one of the best soundtracks to a film I've ever heard mixing old and original songs.
Specifically the original songs in this film are so catchy and great, I've been listening to them for weeks now! The film never goes overboard with the corniness which is refreshing, telling a great coming of age story, love story, musical and a story about how music and nostalgia influence who we all are.
Sing Street is a flawless film that I hope everyone looks out for if you haven't seen it already. I can't rave about this film enough. My highest of recommendations! 5 out of 5 Stars!
