Review of Sing Street (2016) by Jon E — 24 May 2016
A fantastically gritty film about a young group of boys and music in late 1900s Ireland. This film tackles ample social and economic issues, most prominently domestic unrest, financial strain on relationships and the mentality behind bullying.
The music is brilliant, the acting is equally as exceptional and the storyline is gripping and entices the viewer in from the very beginning. Far from cliched, and a must watch for 2016 music fanatics as well as those who prefer a true young love story. Director John Carney builds on his work in 'Begin Again' to new heights.
