Review of Sightseers (2012) by Marcin P — 21 Jan 2013
Ben Wheatley confirms himself as one of Britain's hottest youing directors - someone to place alongside Michael Winterbotrom and Shane Meadows - with this marvellous trawl around the obscure museums of the Midlands and North.
With his adventure trousers, shaggy berad and Brummie cadences, Steve Oram is truly disturbing although he's more than a Little Englander, Daily Mail reader as is proven during a horrific scene at a stone circle.
Unlike the almost equally as fine Kill List, the action doesn't become over the top either although dog lovers might baulk at some of the treatement dealt out to canines. An Eddie Edwards type character in a tent on wheels is an additional comic creation.
