Review of Shotgun Stories (2007) by Tyrone H — 31 Jan 2009
A view of an America where the American Dream never really happens. This film is a slow burnwhich gradually build to a tragic confrontation between two warring families linked by one man. Two of the pivitol characters share little or no screen time, the father who abandoned a wife and 3 boys for religion, redemption and a new life andfamily and the bitter woman he leaves to raise his 3 boys.
Michael Shannon is great as the oldest brother struggling to hold in the dissapointment with his life and his anger at his father. This film should have received much more attention than it has.
