Review of Shocker (1989) by Anthony B — 16 Apr 2010
Wes Craven here set out to create a new villain to match Freddy and to kickstart a new franchise that would be as successful as his "Nightmare On Elm Street" series, that did not all quite go to plan as "Shocker" was not too well recieved by both the cinema going public and critics.
Personally I feel that Craven created a misunderstood classic of the late 80's that is a true blast to watch as it has an original story, plenty of gore, offers a lot of laughs with its dark humour and has a fantastic villain in Mitch Pileggi as Horace Pinker.
