Review of Shin Godzilla (2016) by Anna D — 11 Jul 2018
The magic of this film lies not in its action or thriller aspects, though they're certainly there. The magic lies in the statement it makes about modern society, especially in Japan; the bureaucracy, the red tape, the ridiculous farce that politics has become.
I liked its message, and I believe it brings something new to the monster thriller genre that hasn't been touched on by previous Godzilla films.
