Review of Sherlock Holmes (2009) by Tim K — 13 Aug 2012
Anyone who ever truly character studied the nature of the sociopathic Holmes will admire Downey's accurate portrayal and apt movement from the "british gentlemen" facade that has been proported over the years thanks to actors like Rathbone.
What we get is the absolutely raw portayal of a nutjob, narcissistic genius who still believes the universe is geocentric. Sherlock Holmes was no gentlemen, he was a martial artist and the very character Batman himself is based directly from.
Knowing this and watching all previous forms of the character makes you scratch your head as to what books those directors had been reading all along.
