Review of Shelter (2014) by Joel G — 07 Apr 2016
Acting and dialogue was fantastic. It was gritty and unforgiving, at no time allowing you to think that the world these characters inhabit is ever anything but harsh. My only criticism is the melodrama of the characters' backstories, as though the circumstances that lead to most people being homeless was too bland and needed to be spiced up to engender more sympathy and interest in the characters themselves.
The fantastic acting, cinematography, and dialogue would have sufficed.
