Review of Shame (2011) by Robert M — 20 Jan 2013
Director Steve McQueen has made a beautiful work of art in Shame, with powerful and compelling performances from Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. There are many films out there that serve as excellent character study's but Shame has definitely earned its place as one of the best character study's.
The characters of Brandon and Sissy are both interesting and unique. They are characters that you feel sympathy for because of their struggle with their own personal problems and issues. I just cannot deny how compelled and entertained I was during this film.
Shame is the kind of film that once you've seen it, you'll never forget it. It's a timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.
