Review of September (1987) by Marcus Y — 19 Jul 2007
Minor Woody. He shot the entire film, then re-cast, then shot it again. Apprently Sam Shepard and Woody didn't work well together. At one point Shepard improvised a monologue about Montana, and later Woody said "No effing way is there going to be a monologue about Montanta in one of my movies.
" He was replaced with Sam Waterson. This is more of a filmed play than a movie, but it's full of the usual insights and fine dramatic moments. I will admit I get sleepy during Denholm Elliot's monologue.
