Review of Seeing Allred (2018) by John G — 10 Feb 2018
Great watch. And from a person who generally anti attorneys and had a cyclical view of Gloria for years, it completely changed my perspective on lots of things. Her being the biggest one.
By showing us the backdrop of her youth, and her early life, along with the culture of the United States at those times, you walk away with a fantastic understanding of who she is and why she is who she is.
The downside of watching itt is you then fear that the current political climate is erasing so much work that took decades to accomplish, from many people. So it's uplifting in the sense that you know people will fight for what is right but also a downer knowing how easy it is for some to destroy it all.
The scene at the end of the documentary, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, was the most terrifying knowing that people like that feel like they have a voice now.
Overall great watch though and well worth the time invested in it.
